Everything You Need to Know About the New Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+
When Medik8 launches a new serum, the skincare world pays attention, myself included and for good reason. Their serums are exceptionally formulated, combining the three things I want most from skincare: science, innovation and visible results.
In this blog, we’re going to deep-dive into the new Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ formula, explore what Exosomes and PDRN actually are, how the serum works, what you can use it alongside in your routine, and which skin types and conditions it could benefit most.
What Is Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+?
At the heart of the formula is Medik8’s new “Rejuvenation Blueprint”, designed to support the skin through what the brand calls the 3 Rs of rejuvenation: Recover, Restore and Recharge.
The serum combines vegan PDRN, a Triple Exosome Complex, breakthrough (GF) Growth Factors MiniProtein™ technology, and an ATP precursor to support the skin’s natural rejuvenation pathways, with 151 billion exosomes per bottle helping skin appear smoother, calmer, firmer, and more radiant over time.
What I love the most and find particularly interesting is how the formula works through different pathways to skin rejuvenation than any of their other formulas, so it's going to complement your existing routine and can also be really beneficial on its own under your moisturiser and SPF.
What Exactly Is PDRN?
K-Beauty has introduced us to one of skincare’s biggest ingredient trends for 2026: PDRN. Originally used in medical procedures and professional skin rejuvenation treatments, PDRN is known for its ability to support skin repair, regeneration, and overall skin recovery.
Traditionally derived from salmon DNA, Medik8 has reimagined this technology into a vegan PDRN formula suitable for daily at-home use. The ingredient has become increasingly popular for its regenerative benefits and ability to support healthier, stronger and more resilient-looking skin.
What does PDRN do for the skin?
Supports tissue repair and regeneration
Supports collagen synthesis
Boosts hydration and strengthens the skin barrier
Helps calm inflammation and reduce redness
Supports skin recovery after treatments like microneedling
Improves skin radiance and overall skin health
What are exosomes in skincare?
Exosomes are tiny regenerative signalers that help skin cells communicate more effectively. They carry important proteins and messaging molecules that support recovery and repair processes within the skin.
The easiest way to describe it is that Medik8’s Triple Exosome Complex acts like your skin’s own WhatsApp messaging system, helping important rejuvenation and recovery messages travel more efficiently throughout the skin.
As we age, communication between skin cells naturally slows and becomes less efficient, especially when the skin is stressed, inflamed, or overworked. Medi8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ contains up to 151 billion Exosomes per bottle, designed to support these natural signaling pathways and help restore visible vitality to the skin.
What are Growth Factor Mini Proteins?
Growth factors are signaling proteins naturally found in the body that tell skin cells to:
Repair damage
Produce collagen and elastin
Reduce inflammation
Accelerate healing
They’re heavily involved in wound healing and skin regeneration, which is why they've become popular in anti-ageing skincare and post-procedure treatments. You may have seen or heard about EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor), FGF (Fibroblast Growth Factor) or TGF-beta. Your body naturally releases and regulates growth factors during sleep, which is one reason sleep is so critical for skin repair and overall regeneration.
Traditionally, growth factors in skincare are large in size, so this reduces their ability to penetrate as effectively, and they are incredibly unstable, so they need extra care when formulating.
This is where the combination of Growth Factor Mini Proteins, which are patented to Medik8, aims to solve those problems. There are smaller engineered protein fragments (instead of trying to deliver a full large growth factor protein, scientists isolate the “active signaling region” and create a compact version that works more effectively), and they are also designed to mimic key parts of growth factors; they are far more stable, are able to penetrate the skin more effectively and remain active for longer.
What exactly is ATP?
Think of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) as the body’s batteries for all the cells to function. Just like the battery in your phone and the fuel you put in your car, your body needs energy and your cells operate in a similar way. Virtually every cell in your body makes ATP, because every cell needs energy to function. Skin is really energy-dependent and by having a good level of ATP production it supports all of the below functions in the skin:
Faster recovery
Better barrier integrity
More efficient collagen production
Improved healing
More resilient skin under stress
The levels of ATP being produced and overall cellular energy levels decline with age. The main reason is that the mitochondria (the parts of cells that produce most ATP) become less efficient over time.

Your Questions Answered About Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+
Is Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ good for sensitive skin?
I would always recommend patch testing first if you have sensitive skin. That said, I don’t see any obvious reason why this formula wouldn’t be suitable. In fact, PDRN is known for its soothing, calming, and anti-inflammatory benefits.
Does PDRN help with collagen production?
Yes. Similar to Retinoids and Peptides, PDRN helps support collagen production, which can improve skin firmness and elasticity over time. This makes it a great alternative for those who cannot tolerate retinoids or simply prefer not to use them.
Can Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ help with redness and inflammation?
Yes. PDRN is widely known for helping to reduce redness and inflammation, which is why it’s often used in post-treatment and skin recovery products. Its calming properties make it particularly beneficial for stressed or sensitised skin.
Is PDRN better than Hyaluronic Acid?
PDRN works very differently from hyaluronic acid, so it’s not really a direct comparison. Hyaluronic acid focuses mainly on hydration, whereas PDRN is more targeted towards skin repair, regeneration, collagen support, and hydration.
Can you use Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ every day?
Yes. Consistency is key for best results. Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ can be used daily, ideally twice a day, morning and evening, as part of your skincare routine.
Where does Medik8’s vegan PDRN come from?
Medik8 uses a vegan biotechnology-derived form of PDRN.
Is Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ suitable after aesthetic treatments?
Yes, it can be a great option post-treatment thanks to its soothing and skin-repairing properties. However, Medik8 also offers a professional version specifically designed for clinic use, so it’s always best to discuss your post-procedure skincare plan with your skincare professional or practitioner.
Can you layer Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ with Peptides?
Yes, you can absolutely layer it with Peptides. When layering skincare, remember the general rule: apply products from the thinnest to the thickest for optimal absorption and results.
Is PDRN too large to penetrate the skin?
Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ has been designed with advanced delivery technology to optimise skin penetration and support skin recovery. The formula uses a specialised tetrahedral structure, which enhances the interaction of the active ingredients with the skin for improved efficacy. This allows the serum to better support hydration, skin repair, visible firmness, and overall skin resilience.
While no topical skincare penetrates as deeply as injectable treatments, well-formulated PDRN products can still deliver impressive skin-supporting and rejuvenating benefits when used consistently.
My Final Thoughts
Is Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ worth it? In my opinion, yes, especially if you’re interested in regenerative skincare and supporting overall skin health alongside your existing routine.
One of the things I personally love most about this serum is that it works through a completely different pathway to Retinal and Peptides, meaning it layers beautifully alongside both of those skincare powerhouses rather than competing with them. That makes it incredibly easy to incorporate into an already results-driven routine.
Skincare innovation can sometimes feel overwhelming, but every now and then, a product launches that genuinely feels exciting from both a scientific and results perspective, and for me, Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ is one of those products.
It combines regenerative skincare technology with brilliant ingredient combinations and innovation. The texture is lightweight, the formula feels soothing and hydrating on the skin, and it sits effortlessly alongside other active ingredients.
If your skincare goals focus on supporting skin repair, improving visible redness, boosting hydration and encouraging firmer, healthier-looking skin, this is definitely one to have on your radar.
Suitable for vegans and fragrance-free.
