As a skincare expert and a qualified facialist, I know only too well the importance of hair care and taking care of the scalp. After all, the scalp is an extension of the skin on your face and is exposed to daily aggressors, just like the face. The hair bulb lies deep within the skin, surrounded by collagen and elastin, making the role of the skin critical in determining hair quality. I firmly believe in treating and taking care of the "skin of the future," and the same philosophy applies to the "hair of the future." Consistency is key, whether it’s for skincare or hair care. Here are my ride-or-die hair products that I use in the week.
Leave-In Hydration Shine Booster
Bondi Boost Moisturising Leave-In Hair Serum - When my hair needs a mid-week hydration boost, I apply it after shampooing and conditioning. Bondi Boost Heavenly Hydration Serum is a gorgeous, ultra-lightweight, intense hydration serum that delivers 72 hours of moisture. It also helps detangle, strengthen, and add shine. I use it once a week to complement my weekly hair mask (after my heat-protecting spray), but there is no reason you couldn’t use it more often.
Weekly Scalp Exfoliation
For me, exfoliating my scalp weekly is as essential as exfoliating my face. Just like how pores can become clogged on your face, dead skin cells on the scalp can trap hard water residue and product build-up, like dry shampoo. This makes hair limp and dull. After scalp exfoliation, I notice a huge difference in the volume of my hair, the extra bounce, and the softness and shine. My secret…? Currently, I use Kérastase Energising Scrub, but I’ll be sharing more of my favourite scalp scrubs soon.

Daily Hair Growth Serums
I apply hair growth serums most nights, even when I’m not washing my hair the next morning. My hair has been noticeably thinning, especially around the hairline, and using these serums before bed allows time for absorption. By morning, the serum is fully soaked in. Here are my two favourites:

Hair Oils
Hair oils are a game changer in my opinion. I apply hair oils in different ways than most and this is for different reasons. For dry ends, applying hair oil the night before washing infuses moisture into the ends, eliminating dryness and reducing flyaways. Say goodbye to candy floss hair that looks all dry and whispery. Both oils below can also be used on damp, towel-dried hair for heat protection. I prefer applying them to dry hair, using just a little to seal the ends. Here are my two favourites:

Heat-Protecting Sprays
Heat protection is vital when using styling tools like straighteners, curling irons, or hairdryers. I treat heat protectants like sunscreen—they shield hair from heat damage just as sunscreen protects the skin. I know the sun and the heat damage my skin and the same damage will happen to the hair if we don't protect it from the heat of the styling tools.

Weekly Deep Conditioning Treatments
Philip Kingsley Elasticizer - Best for Strengthening
Weekly intensive hair masks are non-negotiable for me. Without them, my hair lacks moisture, texture, and bounce. I think if you can do a hair mask in the shower then that is brilliant but I have noticed the key is the length of time the hair mask is kept on. To maximize the benefits, I leave the mask on for at least 20 minutes. I’ve used Philip Kingsley Elasticizer for 20 years, and it’s been a cornerstone of my hair care routine. I have to put the quality of my hair largely down to this mask.
98 Hydra Bond Hydrating Masque - Best for Shine, Gloss and Hydration
98 Hydra Bond Hydrating Masque is a standout when it comes to instant hair shine and gloss. From the first use, it delivers impressive hydration, leaving hair feeling silky and visibly shinier. The formula is packed with nourishing emollients including castor, olive, avocado and Brazil nut oils, which smooth the hair cuticle and enhance gloss without weighing it down. Glycerin and butylene glycol help attract and retain moisture, keeping hair soft and flexible. Hydrolysed elastin along with vegetable and wheat proteins work on the surface of the hair to improve manageability and overall feel, rather than providing true bond or structural repair. This is a mask to reach for when hair feels dry, dull or lacks lustre prioritising moisture, softness and shine, with strengthening as a secondary benefit.

Shampoo and Conditioner
I believe in investing in quality shampoo and conditioner. Using the right products nourishes the hair bulb and promotes future hair health. Compromising here can leave hair feeling rough, dull, and tangled. I will be pulling together the best shampoos and conditioners for you shortly… But these are my current favourites:
